Dirt Rug
Bad Boy of Furnitureville
See production photos >>
Freed from the rectilinear morés of his bourgeois upbringing by a summer abroad, Dirt Rug rolls back in to Furnitureville fixing to cause some trouble. His new rough-edged look alone could shake the staid community. Getting comfortable he stretches out diagonally across the town square. Citizens gather and wring their hands, Dirt provocatively askew at their feet. Pleas to straighten up and stick to the 90° grid are made. Dirt laughs them off- These rubes haven't seen anything yet! He gets up and throws himself half across a couch. A gasp arises. Soon he inches his way up and over a coffee table - and hangs there like some boneless cat. But the crowd seems to warm to him. Frustrated, Dirt aims for a larger transgression. With the help of a little padding he dresses himself up as a strange, but surprisingly attractive, day bed. He solicits anyone in ear's reach for a lay. Unfortunately for Dirt-the-provocateur it turns out his hometown is more tolerant of this stuff than he expected and ends up embracing him as one of its own.
